How long does it take for a blocked ear to unblock?

I'm currently in the middle of one of the most annoying colds I've ever had.I had a lot of nasal congestion the past few days and was sneezing uncontrollably for the last day and a half. Tonight when I blew my nose my right ear blocked up. This rarely happens to me so I'm kind of panicking,as it hasn't unblocked yet and I'm not sure what the proper amount of time to wait before going to a doctor in case it doesn't unblock or something. I took some Mucinex nasal spray, tried holding my breath/pinching my nose/swallowing but nothing seems to be helping. It feels like at times it might be trying to unblock but then nothing.I don't hear a crackling noise like in my other ear,but when I blew my nose I did hear a creaking/squeaking noise before it clogged up.Help before I have a panic attack,please??
