My friends and I are in the US Air Force and we just created a nonprofit organization named CPI?

Our primary concern is helping less-privileged individuals whether it's families, students, homeless, single parents, etc. We conducted our first goodwill this past holiday season by adopting two needy families for Thanksgiving and Christmas and donated $500 and provided food/groceries to each family. This is money that came out of our pockets. There are so many other events we would like to partake in extending our helping hand to people, but we're sort of at a standstill deliberating on ways we can increase funds for our organization which is named Concerned People Involved. We recently initiated a scholarship fund that we contribute to monthly and will execute this endeavor next year. My question is what are ways we, as a nonprofit organization, increase our funding without coming out of pocket to extend our commitment in doing more? We welcome any ideas or comments. Thank you all for your time.
