What ever happened to all those hopeless romantics after "the only one I will ever love" up and left them?

'All the songs say, "I can never live without you", "without you I can't go on", "I can't live, if livin' is without you", "I'll never breathe again", "I am nothing without you"---Did any of them make it after all? Did any of them die after their "only" chance for love? I am the last CORDOZA. What am I going to do, now?
